The "Star Student of the Month" Program is part of our School-Wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports System (PBIS).  Working in conjunction with the school's Family Resource Center, the Star Student Program strives to promote parent involvement and to encourage positive behavior that exemplifies the school's Bobcat Pledge.  This program spotlights a girl and boy from each grade level that demonstrate the core values of our pledge of being respectful,responsible, a solution, an achiever and to be peaceful.  Recipients of the Star Student award must also meet the following guidelines:

         A. Good attendance for the month;
         B. Exhibit good behavior which includes character, respect and citizenship;
         C. Demonstrate a good work ethic.

Other Information about the program:

  • In order to have keep the award credible, students selected to win can only be nominated once per school year.
  • Teachers in each grade level must work together to choose their grade's STAR students.  They must ensure that each student they select meets the required criteria and exemplifies the Bobcat Pledge.
  • The parent(s)/guardian(s) of Star Students will be invited to an award program in the school's library.  At this time, students will receive a certificate and be recognized with their parents/guardians.  Refreshments will also be served.
